Surprised that this angle of the Romney fundraising story hasn’t gotten more attention. The host of the fundraiser, Marc Leder, is co-CEO at Sun Capital, a PE firm that converts its fees into carried interest.  Sun Capital has been underperforming as a PE firm, and laying off staff, but they aren’t lowering fees for their LPs.

In a tie that links two recent controversies, the private-equity executive who hosted the secretly videotaped Romney fundraising event is separately caught up in an investigation of industry tax practices by New York state’s attorney general.
